Blouse Fabric Care Guide
Silk, cotton, georgette, net, chanderi, and embroidered blouses each need different care. This guide shows you how to wash, dry, iron, and store every fabric we stitch so your blouses stay new for years.
Silk blouse care
Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent. Do not wring. Air-dry in shade - never in direct sun. Iron on the reverse side at low heat with a cotton press cloth. Store in cotton muslin, never plastic.
Cotton blouse care
Machine wash on gentle cycle in cold water. Tumble dry low or air-dry. Iron at medium heat. Cotton softens with washing - that is normal.
Georgette blouse care
Hand wash with mild detergent. Do not wring or twist. Air-dry on a hanger. Iron at low temperature on the reverse side using a press cloth.
Net and embellished blouse care
Dry-clean only when visibly soiled. Spot-clean small marks with a damp cotton bud. Avoid hangers that pull on the embellishments - store flat in a muslin wrap.
Embroidered and zari blouse care
Avoid frequent dry-cleaning. Wrap in soft muslin, store in a dark wardrobe, and air the blouse every few weeks to prevent moisture buildup.
Stain handling
Always blot, never rub. Cold water and a mild detergent for fresh stains. Oil stains: cover with talc for 2 hours, then brush off. For tough stains, hand it to a specialist dry cleaner with a note about the fabric.

- Cotton blouses with no embellishments can be machine washed on a gentle cycle. Silk, georgette, and embellished blouses must be hand-washed or dry-cleaned.
